Joel Nagel was the keynote speaker at the 12th Annual Family Office Super Summit, held in December 2025, at the Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The summit is the Family Office Club’s largest annual event and one of the club’s flagship gatherings for family offices and ultra-high-net-worth investors.

The 2025 summit brought together more than 650 attendees and featured more than 125 speakers and 10 curated networking sessions over the course of three days. Participants included decamillionaires, billionaires, accredited and angel investors, professional athletes, and medical professionals.

The event is known for its strong investment focus, with investors actively networking and engaging with vendors. The Family Office Super Summit prides itself on its “no fluff, no 45-minute snoozers” philosophy, prioritizing relevance and actionable insights. Sessions are designed to move quickly and deliver value, while networking opportunities facilitate meaningful conversations between investors and vetted vendors. Organizers describe the summit as the “F1 racing equivalent of investor events — built for speed, precision, and capital results.”

Joel Nagel’s Keynote Fireside Chat: Defensive Asset Protection in a Complex Global Environment

Joel Nagel on Panel at the 12th Annual Family Office Super Summit - Dec 25The Family Office Club invited Joel Nagel to be a keynote speaker at the summit, where he spoke about his unique position of prioritizing defense amid a majority of offensive players. Drawing on decades of experience as an attorney who specializes in asset protection, overseas commercial transactions, and the creation of international corporate structures, Joel emphasized that an effective wealth strategy is about protecting what has been built just as much as it is about pursuing new opportunities, particularly in an increasingly complex global environment.

During his keynote, Joel also shared insights into the development of his own family office, SOFOS. The family office is designed to offer services and international support to other family offices, drawing from deep operational experience and a global network of relationships. Joel’s remarks underscored the growing need for collaboration, infrastructure, and shared expertise among family offices operating across borders.

Fireside Chat and Panel Participation

Joel delivered his keynote in a fireside chat format with Richard Wilson, founder of the Family Office Club. Richard highlighted Joel’s multifaceted success across global investments, asset protection strategies, real estate in Central America, and even professional sports (Joel is a co-owner of the Vienna Vikings football team in Europe).

In addition to the keynote fireside chat, Joel also took part in several panel discussions throughout the summit, offering practical perspectives on risk management and global investing. His son, Joe Nagel, participated in one panel as well, reflecting a generational approach to leadership and long-term family office strategy.

Joel’s participation in the 2025 Super Summit builds on his long-standing relationship with the Family Office Club, including prior fireside chats and educational sessions focused on asset protection and global structuring for family offices.
