Joel Nagel, founder and managing partner of Nagel & Associates, LLC, recently represented the firm at the inaugural MEHA Celebrity Golf Invitational in Indian Wells, California, a charity tournament that raised funds for cancer awareness, research, and the development of new treatments.
Held at the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells, the event brought together participants and guests from the worlds of sport, entertainment, business, and philanthropy. Attendees included six-time Major champion Sir Nick Faldo, Caitlyn Jenner, actor Billy Zane, Olympic pole vault medalist Alysha Newman, British businessman David Reuben, environmentalist and author Helga Piaget, and Attorney Joel Nagel.
The tournament was organized by interviewer and broadcaster Daphne Barak and her partner Erbil “Bill” Gunasti, with support from various organizations, including DP World. Proceeds benefited the Daphne and Bill Foundation in collaboration with the University of California, San Diego, supporting cancer research and related initiatives.
For Nagel & Associates, participation in the event reflected the firm’s continued engagement in international business, philanthropy, and relationship-building across sectors. During the tournament, Joel was paired with Caitlyn Jenner and also spent time with Daphne Barak, Bill Gunasti, and Danny van Otterdijk, who leads communications at DP World.
Beyond the golf itself, the event created an opportunity to support an important cause while connecting with leaders, entrepreneurs, athletes, and public figures from around the world. Sir Nick Faldo also took part in a “beat the pro” challenge on a par-three hole and later presented a green jacket-style tribute to Daphne Barak, echoing the tradition of the Masters Tournament.
Nagel & Associates was pleased to be represented at the first MEHA Celebrity Golf Invitational and to support an initiative that advances cancer awareness, research, and hope for those affected by the disease.
