After a long and extensive nationwide search, the board of directors, including Chairman Joel Nagel, have selected internal candidate Luigi Wewege as the new president of Caye International Bank. Wewege will be the third president of Caye International Bank since its founding in 2003. He follows Peter Zipper, who recently retired after having served for more than ten years in that position.

Luigi Wewege joined Caye International Bank in 2017 as senior vice president and head of private banking. His expertise includes digital banking, strategic planning, product development, innovation, global sales management, and business transformation. Under his VP leadership, Caye International Bank experienced double-digit growth in assets, clients, and deposits. It is now set to become the biggest international bank in the country.
Wewege holds an MBA in International Business from the MIB Trieste School of Management in Italy and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a triple major in Finance, International Business, and Management from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
